June 7

Colin is finally just about over his cold. He, as is usual with these things, ended up getting worse before he started getting better. Last Saturday, he had a temperature of 103 which after talking to the nurse's line sent us to the emergency room which was a little blessing in disguise. It turns out that Colin's ear infections were getting worse and by Saturday, the ER doctor said that they were 9's out of a scale of 10. So, we left there with a 10 day antibiotic prescription and instructions with what else to look out for. It's kind of a good thing he had the fever since he always seems to be feeling fine, we would have never known how bad his ears really were.

The other news this week is that Cameron and I went on our first real vacation since Colin was born. We left on Tuesday and headed out to Grand Bahama for a five day trip. Gigi flew in from Alabama to take care of Colin which was perfect. I wasn't sure who would have more fun while we were gone. Cameron and I had blast on the island and we took advantage of all it had to offer. We swam with dolphins, snorkeled on a reef in the middle of the ocean, took walks on the beach and ate in some really nice restaurants. Maybe the best part was that we were able to sleep in for five whole days. What a treat!

As soon as we're home, I'll work on getting the pictures from the week together and post them. In the meantime, here's one of my favorites:
