What a fun weekend!! We drove down to Houston on Friday to visit with my mom. We started off the weekend at my Aunt Debbie's house which was tons of fun. Colin was able to feed some of my Aunt's animals including ducks, pigs and a horse. My Aunt also keeps my cousin's kids during the week (ages 2, 4 and 7) and they had lots of fun playing together, banging on piano keys and dancing.
Saturday we went to the Houston Aquarium and Colin had his first carousel ride. He watched it a few times before we were able to get on and the whole time he was watching the alligator and making alligator signs. So, we had to put him on the alligator when it was his turn. Then we went through the aquarium and saw lots of fish, sharks, snakes and even white tigers. Colin loved every tank that we came to and he watched all the fish with so much interest. At the end of the exhibit, they had a touch tank where you could touch sting rays and baby sharks. The sting rays were literally jumping out of the water right where Colin had his hands. What an experience!!
On Sunday, we drove back to Austin and went to a block party. At our neighbors, Colin was able to try out a trampoline. He hasn't quite figured out how to jump yet, but he likes walking around in circles as fast as he can. He giggled when he fell down and had a hard time getting back up or when we would bounce him just an inch or two off the mat. We also had a church class party at Eric and Tara's Sunday evening and Colin got to play around in the pool a little and play with Jasmine the dog. Needless to say, he was tuckered out by Sunday night (mom and dad too!).
