As many of you know, I spend a bit of time volunteering with the United Way. They have a wonderful early childhood initiative called Success By Six (SB6) that is making great headway here in Austin by raising the level of care provided to children under six. I have been volunteering for the executive committee of the women's group that supports SB6 for several months now and it's been a very rewarding journey. This group of women are strong, accomplished and dynamic that together in a room they seem to accomplish every goal they set out to acheive. It's been great to be a part of it. So, you can imagine that I was very honored when they asked me to co-chair one of their four committees. It will be a great way to really see how little ol' me can really make a difference. They also asked if I would help liase between Austin's performing art center and one of the under funded daycares to help low income kids attend an upcoming show. How fun will that be!?! I am just thrilled with my new roles and wanted to share! ; )
