It's hard to believe, but we here in Austin will not receive one drop of rain from Hurricane Ike that went through Houston today. For those concerned about my mom, she is doing just fine. My uncle and his family are with her and she does have a tree down in her back yard that took the power line and her fence with it. She's without power and water but they were well prepared and are in good spirits - just really bored with not much to do. We'll be monitoring the status of the repair efforts and are prepared to drive down and scoop them up if the power and water will be out for days to come.
One thing that I did want to share today was a picture that I took one day this week. I left to run an errand while Cameron took Colin into the back yard to play. They ended up doing a bit of painting and this is what I came home to.
