Jan 25

I know it's been a while but boy have we been busy. The holidays are a little bit of a blur now and both the kids have been dealing with various bugs on and off over the last month. But here's a little recap of what we've been up to.

Right before Christmas we got Hannah baptised. She did great during the ceremony and Colin was a proud big brother. The night before the service I was explaining to him what was going to happen and what it meant and when Cameron walked into the room Colin exclaimed "Daddy, I want to see Hannah get bow ties!" LOL!

We spent Christmas in Austin with my mom. We had our annual trip to Evergreen Christmas tree farm where we rode the tractor out to the tree farm, scouted out the perfect tree and cut it down by ourselves. This place is always so fun since there are goats to feed, marshmallows to roast and games to play. Colin never seems to want to leave. Colin was a great helper with all the Christmas decorations both inside and out. We also had a lot of fun learning and reading all about Santa, his reindeer and other Christmas traditions. Colin was definitely excited for Christmas day.

Unfortunately both of the kids were sick on Christmas week and we even had an overnight trip to the ER with Hannah who had RSV ( a type of cold virus). Colin had a stomach bug and was even throwing up on Christmas day. We actually didn't even start opening up presents until almost lunch while we waited for his medicine to kick in. Even still, we only had about two hours before he started feeling ill again. We thought that we were going to have to cancel our trip to Huntsville to see Cameron's family since we had flights out the next morning but that afternoon they both started feeling better and seemed much more bright eyed - so off we went.

We spent a week in Huntsville visiting with Cameron's family. It was really nice seeing everyone and it was the first time most everyone had met Hannah. Colin had a great time being spoiled by his grandparents and after the Brown's Christmas party couldn't quit talking about his new best friend Jake. Jake is Cameron's cousin's son who is five and the two of them were inseparable the whole time we were at Aunt Sarah's house. It was great watching the two of them play together especially since Colin never really gets to see these guys.

Since Christmas, we've been trying to get back into the rhythm of our routine. Cameron is in the middle of his busy season but trying to get home as much as possible to see us. Since Cameron has been working so much, we've had some help from the grandparents. My dad and Debbie came up last weekend, Debra is in town this weekend and my mom is heading up tomorrow to spend the next week or so. What a help it is to have family around!! And needless to say, the kids have been spoiled rotten!

Hannah has been working on so many skills and just in the last week has clapped, waved, said uh-oh and pulled herself up for the first time. Colin is still in gymnastics and has advanced to the next level. Now he's in class all by himself with the coach and two other boys. Today was his first class and he did so good listening and practicing the skills that we celebrated with an ice cream from Sonic. We're so proud!

I've posted up some pictures to shutterfly and there's a link below to Hannah's first clap. Enjoy!
