Aug 8

I have a lot to update since my last blog post. Where to start...? Hannah started going to daycare two days a week (same as Colin on Tues/Thurs) and she's been doing great. There are only four babies in total in her room and the teacher is great. We had her four month well baby yesterday and she is healthy. She's up to 14 1/2 pounds and all the stats have her in the 50% ranking for babies her age. Her acid reflux has gotten better thanks to the medicine although she still has a bad spit up day here and there. She's definitely more alert and her personality shines through more every day. She's talkative, sweet and has just started to giggle which is fun. She adores her big brother and watches everything he does. She smiles at him every chance she gets. It's very cute!

Colin is talking up a storm! His vocabulary and language development is advancing so quickly. He's picked up so many words and even is using correct tenses, word structure, etc.. Lately, he has been into imaginative play. He comes up with the funniest story lines and rules to made up games that I am not sure who has more fun. Cameron has been playing outside with him a lot this summer and he's gotten pretty good at playing t-ball and soccer. We've also spent a considerable amount of time in the pool which he seems to be a natural born swimmer. He's not scared of the water and even puts his face under without getting water in his nose or mouth. We still go to My Gym every Friday and he has learned so much there. He's got great balance, does a pretty good forward roll and can climb like no one's business.

He's a great big brother! He is happy to help with anything Hannah related most of the time. When Hannah is fussing in her car seat when we're driving around, he tells her "Don't cry Pannah, be happy." If she's fussing in her bouncy chair, he'll usually stop what's he doing to go see what's going on with her and even pull a toy to make music for her. He always wants to know where she's at and every couple of days asks to hold her.

I'm back at work and am enjoying the professional outlet. I really like being a recruiter - it's nice to meet new people and I find that I really enjoy being a resource for people when they have a need. I have also done a little volunteer work with United Way. However with this changing economy, the board that I volunteer with is reorganizing so lately there's more talk about the group itself than action in the community. Hopefully, we'll be back to helping kids again soon. Cameron is doing great at work, as usual. He is still home for dinner with us most nights at 6pm and has been taking Colin to swim lessons on the weekends. He is traveling for work for two weeks soon, so neither one of us is looking forward to that. He is starting to plan his big mountain bike race he does every fall with his friends and will begin to train for that soon. Between kids, household duties, work and volunteering - there never seems to be a dull moment (or time to blog as you may have noticed!).

Here are some recent pictures (I added titles so you know what they are) and a video of Colin playing Tap Tap Revenge on my iphone (notice the head banging - LOL!).
