Today we went to the doctor for Hannah's two month check up. She is healthy and growing so fast. She weighed in at 10 lbs and 10 ozs! Cameron and I couldn't believe it. That brings her up to the 50% percentile for babies her age. Her length was 21 3/4 inches which is in the 25-50% percentile which is great considering she started off in the 5-10% percentile grouping for height and weight. Everything else checked out just fine with the exception of her acid reflux.
It seems to have gotten worse lately with her having cycles of 5-6 hour periods of fussiness, spit up and projectile vomit then 5-6 hours of normal feedings and sleeping. It's really amazing she's gained as much weight as she has considering how much of her milk comes back out. Unfortunately it also takes more focus away from Colin which is hard for him to understand and hard for me because I want to make sure he's getting plenty of attention. I also feel a little behind on tummy time which is hard to do when she is spitting up so much. And since she has to be upright for a while after every feeding, I end up falling asleep with her in the middle of the night in our bed and she has gotten very used to sleeping with us. It's been a rough couple of weeks!
The doctor increased the dosage of her medicine and we're going to start giving her expressed bottles with a little rice cereal in it which hopefully will help. Fingers crossed it works. I am very anxious to get her to be a normal happy baby on track with eating better, tummy time and sleeping in her own bed. Our next appointment is at 4 months - we'll keep you posted.
